Diane has been actively involved with the Chicago-based nonprofit Designs for Dignity for more than a decade. Currently Diane is President of the Board of Directors and has also held the position of President Emeritus. She is a member of the group’s executive committee and general board and founder of the organization’s Heart Homes Initiative. Designs for Dignity works diligently to provide pro-bono, full-scale design services to other area nonprofits serving people in-need, at-risk and often marginalized.

She has donated her time to design hopeful and healing environments for Boys Hope Girls Hope and the Warming House Youth Center - both in the Chicagoland area.

Diane was the 2015 recipient of the Institute of Women Today’s Leadership Award for her advocacy work in helping to design safe shelters, serving homeless women and children.

As the newly appointed board president of the nonprofit organization Designs For Dignity, Diane Falanga believes in the power of design to transform not only an environment, but also people’s lives.
